XM antenna
I installed an XM skifi 2-car kit in my wife’s 04 x3. I have XM in several vehicles and want to take my radio with me on the rare occasion that I use her car. I put the antenna on the roof, but cannot get a signal. If I hold it a few feet from the car it will work fine. As soon as I stick it anywhere on the car it will show no signal. Has anyone run into this before?

That is wierd, but it seems to me like you have some sort of interference in the car that is overpowering the XM signal. Make shure that you have it mounted away from things that could potentially cause this, defroster mabey?

Try it directly mounted behind the sharkfin. The roof rack is causing interference. Also, if you have the Sat Prep option you could connect to the sharkfin sat antenna.
