Airfare
I have searched this board for airfare discussions, but have not found any recent threads. If I missed something, please point me in the right direction.
My ED pick up is scheduled for 7/22. The best airfare through the 2 for 1 Lufthansa special is ~ $1,700 with all taxes and fees. Is that reasonable for this time of year (I know it's vacation season in Europe)?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get any cheaper fares?
Thanks!

Thanks! | Did you check expedia and travelocity? 800-900 per person sounds about right though.

If you're not to picky about which airline you fly or if you're somewhat flexible on dates and arrival/departure airports, you could try consolidators (google search europe airfare consolidators) or try www.gemut.com or www.atlanticfellowship.com. Two pitfalls to be aware of: 1) You may have to be creative about your routings and arrival/departure dates ti take full advantage of the really low fares and 2) some of their tickets won't get you frequent flier miles. But in the end, they may save you $200+ per head.
Another trick is book two seperate tickets - e.g. a cheapie fare to a major hub (London, Paris, Frankfurt) and then a separate fare on RyanAir (or similar low cost carrier) to Munich. Going this route could save you a couple of hundred per person.

Mine dropped by $300 when they rerouted my return trip via London on UAL because the direct flight was full. (Yike, I wonder if UAL will be still in business when I return).

And remeber the 2 for 1 deal with Lufthansa is for FULL fare economy ticket, so you do get the benefit of having a refundable/modifiable ticket, but it isn't the cheapest fare available, I get the same thing on Air Canada with my Credit card, they call it a companion ticket (2 for 1) but I have to reserve in FULL fare economy which is a littel more than double the reduced fare economy
British Midland

British Midland | We booked BMI flights from Heathrow to Munich back in March for less than 75 bucks per person, one way and it was a code share Lufthansa flight. We booked it thru Expedia.
