during Oktoberfest: possible to fly in late friday, pick up same day???
we're planning to fly into munich 1pm on friday. 9/16 and want to pick up same day. i've read the posts here and it looks possible. BUT, we're getting there the weekend of the beginning of Oktoberfest, thus more people, traffic, chaos, etc. if we get to the delivery center at 3:30pm, will they still help us?

If you get to the Delivery Center on 3:30 PM they will help you. But trust me... You aren't making any friends as they close at 4:00 PM. People may be there physically but not mentally  Especiallythe first day of the drinkfest.

Nobody should object to this. Even if you take the ubahn you have a good chance of getting there by 3:00. If you leave the airport by 1:45 you should have no problem with ubahn. If after 2:00, take a cab. In between it depends on your foreign skills and gambling instincts. My advice would be to spend the extra 30E (assuming two people) to minimize stress and mazimize the delivery experience, especially if you think you might be a bit fuzzy after the red-eye.

That may be better than any of the two weeks of Oktoberfest - I know that if Oktoberfest were down the street from me, I would be going home "sick" more than a few times in the week....
