In the last few days, suddenly I'm not able to EDIT my own posts. All my old posts now do not have the EDIT button (only quote) and then my new messages had the edit button also. I thought perhaps I lost a cookie or somthing, but today, even my more recent posts do not have an edit button.
I'm logged in as myself and at the bottom of the page, Posting rules say: You may post new threads You may post replies You may post attachments You may edit your posts ------------------------------- vB code is On Smilies are On [IMG] code is On HTML code is On
So I'm not sure what was happening, but it is annoying, as I'm trying to maintain the OFFICIAL When are you going to Munich thread, and I was trying to keep only one table in the thread and edit / delete the older tables as I update them several times a week.
EDIT: Right now I have EDIT permission for this post (seconds after posting. Perhaps there is now a time limit as to how long after your post you can edit it, something like 2 days??)

First off, what does not being able to edit your posts have to do with European Delivery?????? This question is better suited to the Site Feedback forum, which if you'd have gone there to post, you'd have found this ... http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=100148

Just that the posts I want to edit are here. Thanks, that unfortunately is the answer, and my guess was correct.

Sorry if I was a bit harsh.
However, knowing how these things work, we are going to see a spate of these "why can't I edit my posts" threads cropping up every few days in every forum because "the post I want to edit is in this forum".

Indeed.
Well frankly I never knew there was a "site feedback" forum. Perhaps there could be some communication to the members when a significant feature is deleted, (the delete feature) and another is severly cut back (the now very limited EDIT feature). Communication or lack of it being the key.
Speaking of which, you don't have any ID as being an Admin or Moderator... so not sure why you are so jumpy on the subject!
Thanks for the quick feedback.

Quote: | Well frankly I never knew there was a "site feedback" forum. | You need to pop up one level to the top view of the entire board and take a look at what all is out there. Not a criticism, but you might find lots of other interesting stuff you didn't know existed.

Communication or lack of it being the key. | There was in fact a long thread (which got cut back) and a couple of tiny followup threads wondering why there hadn't been an anouncement and then when it was outed why they couldn't answer the question of how long the "editable" period was (which empirically we figured out to be 24 hours). There has still not been an official announcement to the whole board.

But I was part of the threads I mentioned above, and one of my pet peeves is that folks sometimes post questions to an inappropriate forum.
Again, sorry for being too harsh.
