Asking your dealer/CA is the best bet.

That is hard to say and it requires a phone call from your dealer to ED Desk. I have seen as short as 7 weeks, but that is more of exception rather than the rule. Alot depends on seasonality and model availability. For example, it will be nearly impossible if you want an E90 in 8 weeks ot less. Its peak summer travel season and furthermore, all E90 ED allocation are spoken for.

You should expect 3 months lead time, especially w/ the newer "hot selling" models like E90 3 series and E60 5 series.

Hope this helps,

I ordered my E90 330 on May 10th. Car is already scheduled for production on BMW Owner's Circle. BMW's 800 number says car will be finished June 2. Pickup date is June 21st but I'm going to delay 2 days to the 23rd. So, 6 weeks from phone call to dealer to getting the keys in Munich.

My sales associate ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ouch, beewang, now I am flippin' out.

I started shopping in plenty of time, and was told by a dealer here in February that six weeks was plenty of time. So I waited.

Then, last week, I got antsy (eight weeks before the desired ED date) and called around. The issue was that no dealers here wanted to deal from ED invoice. Finally found one, cut a deal and was assured by him -- after he supposedly checked with BMWNA -- that July 19 wasn't a problem.

But you're pretty knowledgable about this, and if you know there's no allocation available, could this dealer have taken my deposit to no avail?
