Munich Airport Hotels with parking & shuttle

I searched the archives and still have a question for you all....

I need to go on business travel for 3/4 days during my ED. Can anyone suggest a good basic hotel/pension in the area of the Munich airport that would accomodate parking my 530 and provide a ride to the airport?

If it's for business stay at the Kempinski at the Munich airport. It's literally right next to the terminals so you don't need a ride and they have a parking garage. It's also a very nice hotel to begin with. If you need to get into the city (like the Delivery Center) without the car it's just a quick 8 euro train ride.

I've stayed at the Kempinski several times before on business. I agree it is convenient and it is very cool/modern, but it is very expensive. I think the best rate I have ever gotten was around $250 USD/night; breakfast was another $30; internet was $20 per day, parking was another $30 a day.

I guess I was indirectly asking for something more modest yet clean, safe (for parking the car), etc.

About 5 years ago I stayed at a small hotel that was a few km from the airport...it was obviously a farm that built a nice hotel in preparation for the day that farming would not longer be significant revenue generator. I can't recall which town it was or what it was called. Maybe I'll just wait to get the airport and ask around. If I uncover something good I'll post it then.

Thank again for the suggestion

Check the Marriott in the town of Freising. It's about 10-15 minutes from the airport, is reasonable, has underground parking and was very nice. Not sure if they have a shuttle (I think so, but not sure... we didn't need it), but would be a reasonable taxi ride.
Check my 'trip report on our ED trip at my web pages: www.hammocktree.org/ms/trips.html The town is very to walk around in also...

The Kempinski has a special for the month of May but you have to go down to the information booth in Terminal One to get the deal. We originally went to the front desk at the K and they told us 195 Euros...so we went in search of a cheaper hotel at the Info Desk only to see a Kempinski sign there at 95 Euros double. Add 18 Euros for breakfast but we got it down in the airport for 6 Euros (coffee/croissant/fruit). Parking is safe but 16 Euros a night. Hope this helps.

Thanks AZBob. I'll check out the info booth when we arrive on June 12th. I'll post to let everyone know if it still is discounted.
