on the bmwusa webiste under the owners circle section it says that my 2006 530 xit is awaiting production. awaiting production? i am scheduled to pick it up in kunich on june 7th. how long does it take to make one of these bad boys? i would think it would be well into the production process by now? any ideas? maybe the website is inaccurate..

Wagon man, rest assure that your car is already done and collecting dust in BMW Storage lot right now. And to answer your question, (if memory serves me correct) it takes appx 3~5 days from start to roll-off of assembly line, it all depends where you'd consider as "the start of Production".

Wagonman, I'm picking up June 9th and my OC status has been "Awaiting Transport" for a few weeks now. Both our cars are probably sitting on the lot waiting as beewang said. No idea who updates the OC data but I have to say mine seemed to be up-to-date all the time, it even showed all the specs correctly.

It seems to me that the OC site does not have an input for AT Delivery center. Only tracks cars headed to US normal deliver. My car has been awaiting transport to Delivery center since April 21. I have been assured by BMWNA ED Dept. that my car is indeed in Munich awaiting my arrival on May 20. WHEELS UP in 25 Hours

i'm picking up mine in June 2th and the oc website still says "Scheduled for production". I was at the dealer this weekend and he had a printout that had "Status 155" (= Production completed)

does anyone know why they sit around several weeks before you can pick them up?

The two weeks after production is so BMW AG can do all the Paper work with Tag Registration Etc. Transport car to DC and Fix any Post Production concerns with car. The last thing they want is a customer in Munich with NO car and NO paperwork. So Two weeks sems reasonable to me. Especially since they have a HOLIDAY every other week.
