To UK by ferry or tunnel?
The last country of my ED trip and car drop off will be London UK, any recommdation on the best way to get there from Germany via Amsterdam?

You drive your car onto the train, and keep driving and driving, rail car after rail car... until you get to the end of the line. Park it there inches from the car in front and sit in your car for the less than 20mins under the channel.
Booking ahead may save some $$$

The great thing is you clear customs/immigration before you get on the train, when you get off in England you just hit the road. No delays.
Plus a lot of ferries now are closed in winter - when are you going?

Thanks for the suggestion.

When I took the Chunnel train in Feb 2001, they had folks walking through the train cars telling passengers to get back into their cars. They got pretty nasty with you of they came back a second time and you were back out of your car.
Personally, I would take the ferry. I like the opportunity to get out, walk around the ferry, getting a bite to eat at one of the on-board restraunts, and seeing the sites. The White Cliffs of Dover and Dover Castle are pretty impressive to see from the channel.
The down side was immigrations as the British Officials can be brutal on non-EU/UK cars/passengers.
I'd still take the ferry. Many fond memories with my kids.
