Well,
My wife and I just finished unpacking, eating dinner and starting on our 6 loads or so of laundry. Unfortunately, one of our bottles of Chianti broke and ruined a couple items of clothing.
Our trip was awesome. I'll provide a more complete trip report in the next week or so.
Here's a brief rundown...
4-17: Land in Munich and stroll around Olympiapark. Dinner at "Milennium" in Schwabing. 4-18: pick up Bluewater/Black X3 3.0. Saw 4 M6's at the delivery center. Find superwalmart for a 220V hair dryer for the wife. Drive to Bellagio, Italy by way of St. Moritz, Switzerland. 4-19: Tremezzo and Como (in the rain) 4-20: Menaggio and Ravenna 4-21: drive to Rapallo and take the ferry to Portofino to see how "the other half lives" 4-22: drive to Florence by way of San Gimignano. Tour Uffizi Gallery, Santa Croce 4-23: Florence in the morning and Siena in the afternoon, with an amazing dinner at "Ristoro di Lamole" in Lamole, off the 222 "Chianti Road". We got a flat tire on the drive back thanks to an a-hole driver coming up the mountain in the center of the road. 4-24: seats at the Rivazza corner for the San Marino F1 Grand Prix in Imola. Dinner in Bologna in the Emilia Romagna region; home of Lasagne and Parmesan cheese and proscuitto ham 4-25: shopping in Florence and touring the archeological museum in Fiesole 4-26: get flat tire replaced; drive to Maranello to see the Ferrari Museum. As a bonus, get to watch Fillippe Massa test in his Sauber at the Fiorano. drive on to Bolzano. 4-27: tour around Bolzano. Drive down Val Gardena, into "Heart of the Dolomites," about half way to Cortina d'Ampezzo. 4-28: drive to Salzburg so wife can get more "painted eggs." drive back to Munich, drop off car at Harms. 4-29: fly home.
As soon as I go through all the RAW files from the camera, I will post some pics.
