What is distance in time and mileage from the delivery center to the nearest point you can drop off the car to be shipped home? What are the delivery center's hours on weekends?
Even though I am going to Europe this summer for several weeks, now is not the best time to purchase a new car. I will most likely be ready to purchase sometime in 2006 and make a quick, dedicated trip there and back on a 3 day weekend. I just want to fly from the west coast to Munich on a Saturday, arrive Sunday morning, pick up the car early Sunday afternoon, drop it off at the shipping location right away and fly back to the west coast Sunday evening without taking the time to stay in a hotel in Munich. I'll just sleep on the plane and take the 3rd day of the 3 day weekend to sleep in and rest at home Monday so I'll be ready to go back to work Tuesday. I expect the plane fare and airport shuttle transportation will be around $1000 from the west coast, so that will be subtracted from my ED savings. I figure I should still be ahead by a few thousand dollars on a 325i with Logic 7, Xenons, Steptronic, leather, metallic paint, satellite radio and power sunshade.

No pick ups on weekends. Drop off to Munich on weekends can be arrange. Drop off is less than 10 miles from the Delivery center.

That means I would have to take at least 2 days off from work (Thursday and Friday) so I could arrive in Munich in time to pick up and drop off the car on a Friday.

Quote: | Saturday Open up car on the Autobahn esp. A7 | LOL!! Good luck trying to "open up car" on the Autobahn on a Saturday!!! Maybe if it's 3am you could do it. Otherwise forget it. You'll be stuck doing 130kmh with all the other traffic. Yawn!!
