 Italy or Austria Dropoff ?

Hi everybody as I prepare for my EuroTrip to pick up my car, I would like to ask you connoisseurs for more advise. I have the option of dropping the car in either Italy (Florence) or Austria (Vienna), so which do you think? Also if I drop it off in Italy do you know if they actually drive that car all the way to Munich for delivery or they ship the car? I do not wnat to lend my toy to another person, and what if they would be careful with it. Does the same happen in Austria? Please advise...

Then you've answered your own question. Vienna, otherwise, someone will actually drive your car to Munich!

We dropped off in Vienna and it was not problem. In Italy someone will drive your car back to Germany. If you refuse to let someone else drive your car for a long distance then drop off in Austria.

Only italy uses the "driveaway" drop-off option.

BTW, a couple of people here have reported favorable experiences with Italy drop-off. Do a search, but to summarize, they don't send a pimply teenager to drive it back to Munich.

I did a drop off in Vienna of a 545 in July 2004. It was very straight forward and easy. I would not hesitate to drop off in vienna a second time.
