Milan to Spa, Belgium
Does anyone have any strong reccommendations/experience about a preferable route?
One way would take us through Lucerne, (or Zurich), Basel, Strasbourg, Saarbrucken and Luxembourg.
It would appear that the other way to go is Stuttgart, Heidelberg, Frankfurt and then over west to Spa.
Any "can't miss" things to see or places to stay along either route?

Do not miss Luxembourg...that place is simply gorgeous, interesting, and for the ~16 hours I was there, I did not see a bad-looking woman! I'm going back there for sure when I have more time. 
Zurich is interesting...apparently is has the highest percentage of homosexuals in Europe...I can confirm this but only found out after the fact! Still, a nice city to visit!

I can't believe that only one person has an opinion on this?!
Obviously Luxembourg is a must do after Agent 99's endorsement.
Similarly ZURICH is out since I have no interest in the rainbow or pink triangle lifestyle.
Are there lipstick lesbians in Zurich though????
While I'm asking, is there an exceptional beer hall in Frankfurt that anyone knows?

There were still very good looking women in Zurich...but no way to tell which side they bat from....
