 Mar 23 Pickup Report

TGray5 and I arrived around 8:30 at the Delivery Center. The place was hopping but mostly for German customers. I guess with the upcoming easter holidays, today and tomorrow will be busy.

We waited about an hour and a half before our names got called. Agent99 and BillP arrived straight from the airport around 10 as well.

The delivery went without a hitch except for TGray's 545 CD changer freezing up. But after a quick trip to the service bay, everything is a-ok.

There were many E90's all over the parking lot and we saw at least 5 E60 M5's and some of the new facelifted 7 series. I have lots of pictures but I can't post them from this public computer. Hopefully, I'll find a hotel with a decent wifi connection.

The car(545i) is a dream boat. We also had the week 9 changes incorporated to our 3 545's w/c were a complete surprise. BirdsEye view on the Nav is awesome.

Tomorrow, we meet at Dingolfing for the factory tour and then to Rothenburg ob Tauber for the nite. My wife and I drove to Nurnburg this afternoon and all I can say is the car is solid at 125 mph.

Big thanks to Franco and Keith at Santa Barbara BMW and of course, to Mr. Jon Shafer!

I met Uboat at the delivery center but he made a quick getaway before we can get pics together. Agent99, BillP, TGray 5 and I (and wife) didn't get out until 12 pm just because we wanted to savor the moment.

What can I say, picking up a Euro-delivery is a great feeling in itself. Doing it with three of your "bimmer" friends was icing on the cake.

That is OK.

I will put up a separate post so people do not miss it. I will call Bernand too to find out if it still in the cafe upstairs.

These "real time" posts from Munich are great. They are informative, and they add to the anticipation of those of us whose date has not yet arrived.

Congratulations. Have a fantastic trip.
