It's been great following the live updates from Mikey V and Spartacus_33. Just one more way that this website has helped me plan this trip. I'd especially like to thank pharding for recommending this sight to me and ofcourse, Bee for being Da Man! (Thanks for the Nav Discs) With any luck, I'll be able to update this thread from Europe over the next 2 weeks. We lift off in about 68 hours and arrive in Munich 10 hours later. Not that I'm counting : ) Do the computers over there have WindowsXP? If they do I believe I can just connect my camera right to a USB port and attach pictures to my posts. Test picture attached... |

Computers will have Windows XP, but take the camera's driver CD along just in case you need a different driver for a German (or insert-language-here) version of XP.

We arrived safely in Munich yesterday morning. After a nice limo ride (actually an S class) to the hotel we headed off for Marienplatz. Our hotel is in a great location! It is onlz a 5 minute walk to Marienplatz and onlz 10 minutes to the Hofbrauhaus. The biggest challenge that we had was staying awake until 8pm to try to adjust to the time change. This morning we had an amazing breakfast at the hotel and departed on a self guided walking tour by 10am. First up was a 20 minute walk to the Duetches Museum. Then to Maximillian street to see Parliament and ending up at the Hofbrauhaus for a bratwurst, a couple liters of beer, and a pretzel. In a little bit we are heading over to the Ratskeller for dinner.
Attached are some pictures of the past 36 hours. Hopefully these attachements work. I'll post more tomorrow after our castles tour.

Funny picture with the SMART car. And that pretty much sums up its size. Now you just need to find a Mercedes A Class at which to snicker.
