Would 545 delivered in May benefit from any changes in upcoming 525/530?

Hello all.
I am seeing various reports that there maybe subtle interior changes to the '06 525/530.

2 ?'s:
- if so, what are the changes?
- would a 545 delivered in May have these changes as well?

My simplistic mind says yes as I would think that the production line/process/materials/etc would all be updated at once and that the only difference that the manufacturer would want to have is the dropping in of whatever engine is ordered.

thanks~

The V8 5-series will see no changes until the 2006 550i is released in September. The 545 will remain as-is for the rest of the model year.

I do not think this is correct.

As of week 9, all the 5's will have the various changes higlighted in previous posts. However, the engine change for the 545 will won't happen until the fall.

My dealer has assured me that my week 13 build 545, will have all of the changes.

Like what? Some of the changes for the 2006 525 and 530 have already be standard for the 545. Other changes are not going to make it on the V8 until the 550 comes out.

What are you expecting on your 545 that will be a "new" feature?

I believe changes to all 5ers in week 9 and forward include:

- Improved higher quality interior surfaces
- Ruthenium trim around a.c. controls and vents
- Improved interior storage
- Leather handbrake handle
- Navigation upgrades, including bird's eye view and shortcut buttons.

I hope it's true that improvements are phased in on the 545 as the year progresses. It's bad enough that we who have already ordered a $70K car are immediately being upstaged by a new model before we even pick up the car! I would have waited until September to order my car and arrange my 2 week European vacation if I had known the 550 would be available. My friends at BMW said "The company won't leave its customers in the lurch."
