Looks like we have no choice, they are putting on by default a US front license place holder. Thus they are drilling holes in the front bumper. This according to Sarafil, plus I examined Spartacus_33's and Mikey_V's pictures very recent pictures.
I still have my ED license plate on the front of my car, 8 years later. But the only holes were from the original plate, so no problem. That US plate holder is much bigger up/down I wonder how many holes they drill for that monstrosity?

If you remove the front plate and holder in Europe would the VPC fix the holes??? I do not need or want a front plate of any kind in FL.

If I want to leave the Euro plate on, is it a different holder? Should I buy one in Munich?
I don't mind the holes because the Euro plate will be on.

When our M3 arrived with the temporary German license places I searched Ebay for a frame. I found many and I bought mine from a fellow in PA. They worked perfectly and have been on for 5 months. Additionally if you want a custom license, those are also available on Ebay, including the "tags" to make it seem original!

The Euro plates are not as tall, and are less wide. But the holder they put on fit the US plates so that the Euro plates look a bit odd. The thinking must make sense, that it's ok to look a bit strange for a couple of weeks, and then the US plates will fit properly for the duration.
But then they drill holes in the bumper for the US plate holder.
I guess we don't know the answer, but it appears to me the factory is putting on the plate holders and someone on another board just got his car normal delivery, and it had the plate holder on there already, despite him giving instructions not to drill the bumper.
bummer.

Hmm... so did you have the US plate holder when your car was delivered / re-delivered. And when you took it off, were there extra holes (from the different shape of the US holder) that were still exposed, once you put on the new Euro style plate holder.
