 ED Process Checklist

It would be great for the ED gurus to help create a checklist of the steps that one has to go through. For example:

1. Delivery date confirmation
2. Production number

You could also include helpful comments at a particular stage, like Bee & the toilet paper advise . I don't want to restrict this in any way-so whatever you think is helpful.

All they will want at Delivery is your passport.

first locate a dealer near you that will do ED with you. You need to decide a day you want to take delivery in Munich for the vehicle, at least 3 months out. After you work with the local BMW dealer on the delivery date, they will get a comfirmation for you. You need to then get your passport and tickets to Munich sorted out. Then all you need to do is figure out how you are going to pay for it, 15 days before Munich delivery to the US dealer. By then you will have the vin of the vehicle, and in my case the vehicle is already built waiting for delivery. Then figure out what you want to bring with you and where you will be going. If you live in the DC area Joern at Passport BMW is great for ED, tell him Brett sent you.

About a month till delivery, you will receive the production number, which lets you log into the BMW owner's circle to track your vehicle production, sort of, it only tells you when it is on-order, in production, and ready for delivery. Since it only takes about a day to make the vehicle, the status changes quickly.

Owner's Circle always drags its feet as far as up dating vehicle status.Your best bet,( if you have a good one), is to contact your salesman, they get up dated regularly.Owner's Circle still has my car at VPC and I took delivery a week ago, some say as long as a month before they see a change.
cheers

A good way to get an pretty current update is on the phone using your production number or VIN, when your dealer provides it, at 800-831-1117. Follow the prompts and choose Vehicle Production Status.
