Hi guys,
I'm doing ED next month. Can anyone recommend places to stay in the following cities? I'm going through the guide books now, but they only tell you so much. Best to get first-hand accounts from fellow 'festers!
Munich Baden-Baden Lucerne (Luzern) Zurich Innsbruck Rothenburg Nurburg Cologne Amsterdam
Thanks!

MUNICH: there are tons of suggestions on here (search is your friend) I like Le Meridien.
KÖLN (Cologne): I really enjoyed the Hyatt, right across the bridge from the cathedral.
AMSTERDAM: the Renaissance is very good and a great location. I also tried the Grand Krasnapolsky but unless you get in the new wing its pretty junky.
ZURICH: I've stayed at the Marriott... pretty typical for European Marriotts. OK but I probably wouldn't stay there again.

Search was my friend for these very questions.
These are my recommendations(based on my search results here...I leave in 3 days):
Munich: for a cookie cutter hotel check Priceline...end result will be Renaissance or Munich Marriot. For a local feel, Hotel Uhland.
Innsbruck: Hotel Maximillian, some have recommeded the Weisse Kreuz. Both offer authentic local ambience.

go to www.accor.com and there are 2 hotel chains which are reasoably priced; the ibis and merkur, the merkur being a little pricier but better accomodations..either way though they are both clean . in munich my favorite and the best location is the hotel merkur munchen alstadt..look it up on the website.its across from a fairly large garage where u can leave your baby for the night and just steps away from the glockenspiel, augustiner keller, and of course the hofbrauhaus. the chain is all over europe and in the cities u mentioned. pick up the hotel guide of all their hotels so u can call ahead. have fun and stay safe !!!!

Munich--do a search. I stayed at the Torbrau
Lucern -- Hofgarten
Zurich -- Hotel Adler
All nice, and a bit expensive (that's Europe), but not break the bank.
