Hi, fellas:

Got back from Munich last night. The trip was really unforgettable. Went directly from airport to the ED center. Saw lots of cars covered in snow in the parking lot, including some E90s. Waited about 40 minutes to do the paperwork and then see the X3! Also met with iceman and his 330i.

There was snow everywhere in Munich. The snow has been on and off all these days. The roads were clear of snow but wet. I am very impressed with X3's handling. I tested traction on a small snow/ice covered road with semi-hard braking and cornering, I would say I never had that kind of guts and confidence before. Totally satisfied with this awesome X3.

I emailed Gerd about a week ago and called him at ED center before heading to his drop-off location. Basically, he just made a copy of my passport and took the shipping doc. Monday drop-off was also easy. He was there before 8 AM. I was the first, so it took just several minutes. He even told me that my X3 would be on truck this same day. It took about 30 minutes to get to the airport.

Now, the waiting started along with some side effect - a little beer addiction.

Some other little things:

Bring a MP3 CD with you, the stereo plays MP3!

The dollar value is so out of control: 1 euro -> $1.44. Try to use banking card at ATM.

Stayed in Renaissance. There were parking spaces near hotel and on the streets. But with the snow, I chose to use the underground parking for 13 euros a day.

Did not order NAV for this X3 b/c I plan to put a PC in my car later. I used mappoint to plan most of my trips along with map. but regretted a little, because I spent more time paying attention to the signs rather than enjoying the ride and scenery.

Used MCI phone card sold at costco. $0.13 to call back to the States.

Thanks to everyone who shared their ED experiences.

Wish all you doing ED in the coming days a wonderful, safe trip.

On the way to ED center.

1. turn left when out of Freimman station.

2. toward volckerstrasse

3. turn left on volckerstrasse

The "door bell not working" sign was still there.

New E90 covered in snow. Hope my X3 has not been, beause there was water on the floor right underneath it.

Awesome! Glad to hear you had a good trip. Your X3's beautiful. I know my next car to go along with my 330Ci will be an X3, as I will need a car with four wheel drive in the coming years. Thanks for the writeup and pictures!

Excellent write up, thanks for the pics. Glad the trip was safe. (X3s and 3 series WITH NAV don't play MP3s). Man that looks cold! (I can't show these pictures to my wife! )
