Friend told us that after your ED 5 car arrives the dealer replaces the donut spare tire with regular size tire free of charge. Have you heard of this?

I don't think so. Unless that person paid for a regular size spare or made a deal with the dealer. Regardless, it's not std, so it's not free.

I doubt it and if this did happen I would think it would happen at the delivery center...not at the dealer.
But thinking about it why would they ship a car to the US with a doughnut and then also ship wheels and tires to replace them. Wouldnt they just put the right wheels in the proper car on the assembly line.

The temp spare wheel/tire is standard (at least with style 71 wheels on the E46 SP), not sure about other models and wheel configurations.

If it's got a donut it's because the regular tire/wheel won't fit the compartment (i.e. cars with the ZHP package) Note I said "package", aren't you all proud of me?

Darn M3s don't even come with a donut! We get a little air compressor and a bottle of goo that gums up the rim along with (hopefully) the hole!
