Ok this is targeted at BeeWang, but everyone else feel free to chime in.
Beewang, you mentioned there was a Beergarten in Munich that I HAD to go see. Like Octeoberfest every day of the year. What was it called again? Hoffhouse?
Anyway, where else do you all recommend going for some Good eats and drinks in Munchen at night?

He was probably referring to the Hofbrauhaus, which is the most famous beer hall (and also has a beer garden in the back). It's also somewhat historical as Hitler held early strategy sessions of the Nazi party here.

the hofbrauhaus is certainly the most famous and the mostoften visited by tourists..very convenient and just across from hard rock munchen....anyways another wonderful one is the augustiner ratskeller just a block or two west of the glockenspiel in the main walking area..better food and the beer is better than the hofbrau selection...the best thing going for the hofbrauhaus..and the reason i make a stop or 2 or 3 every year is the acres of drunken tourists singing and just having a grand old time....prosit !!!!

A very good place is Stengelhof Stengelstrasse 2 its about a 10 minute walk from the Marriott. They have the best Wiener Schnitzel,Gulasch and naturally Beer.It depends on what time of the year that the outside beer gardens are open. vern

As I recall, there are two BIG beer establishments in the Englisher Garten. Lovely. Our hotel was the Gaesthaus, on the edge of the garden (with indoor parking, about 100-120 euros):

I'd avoid any outdoor alcohol consumption at the moment. It's a bit cold and snowy, ya know.
That said, Hofbrauhaus visit is like a ritual, don't miss it.
