Hotels in Innsbruck under $100.00 US

A lot of you seem to be spending at least one night in Innsbruck (sp?). I'm looking at hotels and they seem kind of expensive. Have any ofyou found hotels for less than 100 dollars? I would prefer to NOT use priceline, sinc eI'd like some added flexibility in my choice. It would be nice to be able to cancel the hotel only a day or 2 before if I change my itinerary.

Look forward to all advice.

You may be hard pressed to find decent hotel in Innsbruck proper for that kind on money. Since I was only overnighting in the Innsbruck area on my way to Venice I decided that it would be nicer to stay in a hotel in the Alps with a postcard view. I found this small hotel in a ski resort area in the Stubai Valley, which is really east of Innsbruck, a few miles off the autobahn between Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass. The hotel is full service including heated pool, steam rooms, sauna, etc, and included a nice breakfast buffet. It actually turn out to best value of my trip. It was October so it was the off season and I paid 42 euros for a double room with a balcony overlooking the Alps

Don't be put off by the fact that it belongs to the Best Western chain. You would wish the Best Western hotels here in the US were even half as nice. In Venice I also stayed at a Best Western hotel on Lido Island, beautiful hotel, too. These hotels were by no means americanized.

I have found a good place in Innsbruck to stay on 3/11. This was the city that was most difficult for me to get a 4 star accomodation for around $100. My research led me to Valhol.com . I have selected Hotel Maximillian .(seems pretty nice and is 4*). Price quoted to me was $110 incl breakfast for one night stay. These guys will send you a voucher that you have to present alongwith an email confirmation. I do not remember the cancellation policy....I think it was 24 or 48 hour notice.

The hotel is right in the center of the city and I am told it has convenient parking next door. On 3/11, I plan to pick up my car, drive to the castles and then see Innsbruck. It was important for me to be in the city to enjoy it. I did check out the interesting hotel LDV330i is referring to but it would have been out of my way for my next destination.

Call valhol at 1-800-558-6850 and ask for Joerg Kramer or Marianne. Joerg is from that area and can give you a lot of tips. He is on vacation though until 2/7. PM me if you need any help.

I will be picking up my car on the 11th as well. Our flight comes in around 8:00 am. I have thought about staying in either Munich or Innsbruck. After such a long flight and the time change, I don't know if my wife will be up to spending 2-3 hours at the delivery center then taking a quick tour of Munich, then tour castles and a drive to Innsbruck before she hits a bed. Sounds like a pretty packed day. How long do you think it will take you from the time you pick up your car until you're in Innsbruck?

Aha, this is nice....another 3/11 pickup. I did not see you in the other thread listing all the pickups.

I agree, most wives will not appreciate this kind of stress. The max you may want to plan is do the pickup and then take it easy in Munich or do the castles and then check-in in Innsbruck.

I arrive Munich on 3/10, relax and enjoy the city a bit. On 3/11, I plan to be at the pickup center by 830am, be done in about an hour and then hopefully arrive at the castles by noon. If we have time, I plan to then do the Swarovski Kristallwelten or take it easy in Innsbruck. It is important for me to be in the hotel by 6pm so we are able to enjoy the evening in Innsbruck.
