color poll: choices for hot climate?

OK, I'm an indecisive wuss. I really need to get my 328i ED order in ASAP, but now I'm questioning the sanity of black leather in TX. I'm thinking of Arctic Metallic (med. gray, basically) with black leather.

Obviously, darker colors absorb more heat that lighter ones, etc. etc., but what are some of your warm-weather experiences with light paint colors and black leather? Does light paint help some? Also, does good window tinting make a huge difference?

Thanks for any feedback! (Answers from folks in hot places would be the helpful ones )

I live 12 miles from the coast in San Diego - it easily reaches 95 degrees with generally low humidity in the summer. That said, I'll never own another vehicle with black exterior and/or interior. Current ride is '07 328i coupe: white with saddle interior. Just a few more months to put the A/C to the test!!

Silver/White/Stratus Gray/Sparkling Gray/TiAu/Space Gray all great colors.

I live in Dallas and I've had black leather in my Audi for 5 years. I've never had any problems. On a hot day, the seats aren't any hotter than in my wife's car with beige leather. I was initially worried about the heat but it just wasn't an issue.

I think that the exterior color has more to do with heat retention than the color of the seats.

By my experience with rental cars while stationed in Phoenix for almost a year, interior color isn't important except for convertibles.

Lighter colors are better for hot temps.
