Drop of day in Munich. Which day is best?
Hello,
I'm due to leave Munich on Monday, 7 March at 11:45 am. My question is, can I drop of the car Monday morning and catch a taxi to the airport or should I drop the car on Friday afternoon? Or can I drop a key off the week before and leave the car at the drop off point on Sunday? I guess I can also extend a day as well and drop the car on Monday and leave Tuesday. I have to finalize my plans this week. I leave DC on 28 February. Thanks.

I leave 3/18(Friday) from Munich by the same flight. I plan to drop the car off the previous afternoon. From what I have read, it may be better to drop the car on Sunday. Harms can work with you to do the paperwork on a working day. You can drop the car later. If you do not pre arrange the paperwork they will charge you E75 for a weekend drop off. Traffic on Monday morning can be troublesome in Munich and running to catch a flight could be stressful. I am sure you do not prefer the stress while on vacation.

Ok, I am also traveling in March with planned dropoff on Thursday, March 24th since Harms is closed for Easter holidays Friday, March 25th and closed on weekends. It sounds like I can however fill the paperwork out with Harms before hand and possible just drop the car off on Friday, March 25th or Saturday, March 26th before my flight leaves without being charged extra? Is this correct? If so, who do I need to contact to pre arrange this? It would save me a couple days worth of paying for a cheap car rental Thurs-Sat. Thanks.

I would call the Munich Harmes office and ask their advice!

Thanks. I didn't know if droping off on a weekend was even an option.
Pedersenkl, you and I ordered similiar vehicles. I ordered a 330CIC ZHP in Graphite Gray w/ black ancantara, 5sp, Nav and Assist. I hope there isn't too much snow in March.
John, when do you suggest my wife and I leave for the airport on that Monday. We are staying at the Armed Forces resort in Edelweiss which is located in Garmisch? How far is that from the Munich airport?

Mike | I dropped my car off the same morning of my flight. I did the paperwork in advance though. The airport is really close to EH Harms and they will call you a taxi. Be sure to remove the front license plate, first aid kit and warning triangle.
