Which city for drop off??
Hey all, According to BMW's site, there are quite a few cities where you can drop your car off. I have heard that all of the cars heading for the USA leave from Bremerhaven. I also know two people who have very different drop off stories. One couple did a little research and dropped their car off in Bremerhaven, where it went on the RoRo a day later. The other couple left the car (also in Bremerhaven) and it sat there for about 8 days before the next boat left. Has anyone here ever checked with E.H. Harms to see if they can get enough concrete information from them to maybe keep the time between drop off and shipping to a minimum??? Just curious!!! For example, Vienna is reputed to take much longer than a drop off in, e.g., Amsterdam or Munich. But the delay is principally in the shipping by boat and the wait at the VPC.

My car last August was on a ship 4 days after I dropped it off in Paris. The long wait was at VPC, were the car sits until one day it mysteriously appeared at the dealer. Still, my wait was "only" five weeks after drop off, not counting the two weeks it took me to get to the dealer after the car arrived (due to a business trip )
Considering it was five months from ordering to re-delivery, I wouldn't worry about a couple extra days in transit, and instead just drop off where you want (except maybe Italy.) Paris was easy, as its at the airport, and easy as dropping off a rental car, complete with a shuttle to the terminal or train station.
