Ordered M3 for Euro Delivery in March!

Much thanks to this board / Euro Delivery forum for inspiring me to again do my second Euro Delivery on my new M3. I only discovered this forum a few months ago, but was very pleased to see a specific Euro Delivery discussion.

I was waivering on the Euro Delivery for this time, as it will obviously delay my getting the car here by a couple of months. But in the end, having this general discussion on ED pushed my over the line and I decided to do it.

Of course my last trip was wonderful, 1 month and 4500 miles covered. This time will be more like two weeks. And going in March instead of May, could likely present some weather problems, though I drove in torrential downpours last time also. And did hit a bit of snow in Brennero last time.

I'll be following along here and would appreciate any comments for destinations. I was thinking "go south old man" for the weather. I have relatives near Florence, and can do the coasts in Italy. Was thinking about checking the Adriatico.

Special thanks to jeffh325 for posting the picture of the "hot dog" During the final decision that picture kept coming up to mind, and I was yearning for some of that good German food I had at a local faire I happened across on my last trip.

Here's my specs:
Imola / Black, SMG, ZCP, ZPP, Lumbar, Xenon, Nav, and in a last minute decision as a nod and surprise to my wife, heated seats.

Gene

PS: Where / how can I get a NAV DVD for the trip

You made another good choice by doing ED again, although now it may be a bit more expensive b/c of the rate exchange. I'll hopefully be there at the end of March. Check in the main page of the ED forum for Navigation disk loaners or you can try www.ebay.de

The usual caveat about considering if you want to drop your car off in Italy applies, if you're thinking along those lines. Now, no one has complained about the drivers from Italy ever causing a problem with the vehicle, but they do rack up additional miles on it, and considering you would be leaving a very nice M3 in their hands.... Exactly how my car ended up with heated seats as well!

NEVER!

I wouldn't even think of dropping it off there... I'm meant heading that way for the vacation where it might be a tad warmer, but it would certainly be back again. My preliminary thinking is drop off in Munich, but that may change. Cheers!

Hey, CONGRATS e36! You are going to love driving your ///M on the Autobahn and Autostrada.
Perhaps you have read my posts from May of last year after my wife and I did ED for an M3 coupe. Suffice to say we had an awesome time and getting THAT car in Munich was wayyyy cool!
I would indeed reccommend going South into Italy since we had such a great time doing so. Have you thought of Santa Margarita/Italian Riviera area?
BTW, we dropped off in Munich. There is no way that I would let someone drive my M3 through the Alps from Italy!
