Could some explain the reason they make ED cheap?
arent they losing money?
why can't they just give you the discount without going over there?

Be courteous and do a search before asking a question you have to assume has been asked before.

why can't they just give you the discount without going over there? | My understanding is that BMW doesnt have to tag marketing and advertising costs as well as dealer inventory costs on ED vehicles, plus they get paid upfront before the car is paid so that way they can pass on part of the savings (abt 7%) to the customer. But I think the real reward is in the experience of driving your new ride on the german autobahns and back roads. That really set the mind on the potential of these fine automobiles.

Calm down fellas 
While I thought it may be harsh to grill the newbie on RTFM before posting, I for one would never post on a new bulletin board before I thuroughly searched the archive. To see is my question has been asked before.
I guess what I am saying is.... let's just play nice fellas....

There are some things that are easily searched via keyword searches, like "recall", "angel eyes", "oil change interval" etc... but its not easy to search on a LOGIC. Like why is ED cheap. Do you wanna try searching on this logic.
