 Tracking Order Status



I dropped off my car @ E.H. Harms (Munich) last Friday, Feb. 7. I called the 800 BMWUSA customer relations number, and the last status entry in the computer was for Jan. 10, the day I picked up the car at the ED center (I think she said the status was 190).

Is this lag in computer update normal? How long until I can expect to know the ship my car is on?

Once a car arrives at the NY port, how long does it take to clear customs (usually)? Does it then get trucked to the dealership or is there another step in between like some sort of car prep? Lastly, when should you insure the car in the US?
