 Tracking Order Status

I dropped off my car @ E.H. Harms (Munich) last Friday, Feb. 7. I called the 800 BMWUSA customer relations number, and the last status entry in the computer was for Jan. 10, the day I picked up the car at the ED center (I think she said the status was 190).

Is this lag in computer update normal? How long until I can expect to know the ship my car is on?

Yeah, there can be a lag.

My car has been sitting at the dock in Bremerhaven for the past 10 days waiting on a ship (status 193.) There are alot of influencing factors.

You might go to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen cargo tracking tool, type in your VIN, and if something comes up you know your car has been shipped.

Are you trying to track you car as it comes from Germany? Try using the shipping company web site for information, as the BMWNA info lags behind.

Do you know your VIN? Check here:
http://www.2wglobal.com/WEP/Toolbox...rgoTracking.htm
Click 'auto' and enter your VIN for the I.D. number.

Or, once you know what ship, you can look at the schedule, but it's only updated once per week.

Ours left Munich and arrived in Bremerhaven within a couple days, was on the ship 30 days, but was at customs and VPC in California for about six weeks before it was trucked here. Seems like most people get their car redelivered in less time than that, though.

HankM3 & M.Wong,

thanks for the info. I didn't know about the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website. I tried to track my car, but there is no info available yet. I hope it gets on a ship soon. The wait is terrible

it should be on their tracking web site. I think the stages for a car are:

Booked
Received at Terminal
Loaded on Vessel
Discharged.

I just tried the first link I posted and got an error. You can try this one below and find your way to TOOLS and Cargo Tracking on the upper right corner of the page. Select 'By Cargo AUTO" then put your entire VIN as the Cargo I.D.

It will be worth the wait!

Woohoo,

Finally some data retrieved from the web. My car is in Bremerhaven and will be on the TOSCA, scheduled to depart on Feb. 21, with an arrival date in NYC of March 4. Not too bad!

I just hope the ship's itinerary is accurate
