OK, I'm officially going nuts waiting

Yeah, I know, everyone posts about this. But my car is at VPC now--been there close to a week, so now I can't track it. The not knowing is killing me! I'm gonna have to call my CA and get a status report--see if there's a due date at the dealer. I need my car!

My car was on the Hojin and the dealer today was confident that the ETA he had of Sunday or Monday was a sure thing. However, see my post on the paperwork twist; based on that I’m not expecting to be able to get my car for a couple more weeks. And, contrary to what PHXEd was told, my dealer said that ED cars are last in and last out of the VPC and considered lowest priority, supposedly because we’ve already seen our cars and it isn’t considered as urgent??? I feel your pain.

...Thanks for the info, PHXEd. I didn't have any damage during my two weeks in Europe, ....

Oh I know that could happen, I just don't want to think about it.

I was thinking about driving up to Port Hueneme this Saturday to visit a friend, and to see if I can spot my car on the dock with the others. I am officially hopeless.

Just an update- my dealer says the cars from Hojin are indeed undergoing extra customs checks. They said I might have mine late next week. Just as PHXEd said, it'll be nice just to have it when it comes- a good Christmas surprise.

Me three. I'm bouncing off the walls. Here's how I understand the process, recognizing that the VPC deals with several hundred cars at any given time and that any of these steps could delay the delivery by days :
- The boat docks
- The cars are offloaded off of the boat and are parked near the dock
- Cars are driven 2 miles from the dock to the VPC (at least this is the case for Port Hueneme, not sure about the other VPCs)
- Cars are cleaned and inspected at the VPC.
- Any repairs are made at the VPC (complete body and mechanical shop there)
- Any custom add-ons are installed at the VPC, e.g. 6-CD changer in the trunk
- Once deemed ready, the cars are put on a car-carrier truck and shipped to the dealer, or, for long distances, put on a rail car
- The truck delivers the car to the dealer
- The dealer cleans the car, fills the tank, and delivers the vehicle...
fyi - My dealer neither washed the car nor filled the tank. It had the same amount of gas in the tank as when I dropped it off in Geneva. I guess I could be p.o.'d, but I was glad just to take delivery when I did. I estimate my car sat at VPC in NJ for about a week or less.
