Motor Oil, what brand do you use?

Motor Oil, what brand do you use?

I drive a 2001 540i and use the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w-30w oil. I also drive a 1986 325e and use the same oil except in the 15w-50w.

I'm curious to know what everyone else uses... What is the best oil to use. Some say RedLine while others say Royal purple. I'm not too sure I would use an oil that is not readly available.

I used to use LubroMolly from www.bavauto.com, but I'm not too sure that was the better stuff.

Any mechanics out there?

Mobil 1 0W-40, meets all the BMW specs.

Amsoil 5W30 or 5W40. Supposedly the best but damn expensive

with free maintainence, I plan to use whatever BMW uses when I get my car soon.
