 OFFICIAL New BMW Model Info

I only have a quick minute, but I thought I would share a little bit of official production news with you all.

The current X5 will continue production until July/Aug... the new X5 will be seen in the not too distant future.

The current 2006 5 series will now wrap up production... the MY07 5 series (except for the M5) will start in March/April... new CA emissions laws were the claimed reasons for the early change to the 5 series.

3 series coupe will start production in June'06... convertible will start production in Dec'06
It was very interesting to see the BMWNA rep dodge the "Will the convertible be a hard top?" and "Will we be getting a Turbo?" questions... he referred to that as classified and then went on to explain why they didn't want the competition to have the information while at the same time assuring us that "BMW will not let the competition get to far ahead of us with HP" but reminded everyone that BMW is about the entire package. Very interesting indeed.

M6 will start production in March'06.

I can't wait for more information... this should be the greatest year in BMW's history... and we are right in the middle of it!

I've heard from the top (GM of Sales at NA) that the 2006 X5 will have a full model run (through the fall) and that the new truck will be out in late September/early October. They're not planning to stop production early on the outgoing model.

As for the 5-series info, what is your source that makes this "official"?

Speed, all poly-sci teasing aside, you are a great source of info.
