that would be fine if there was some consistency in the procedure.
first it's after 1000 posts, then after 100 posts, then folk with under 100 posts I see have avitars.. 
..plus someone could be here for a long time and not have "x" number of posts.... so once again ------->

Then again, someone could be here for a long time, have more than enough posts, and still not give a sh!t about having an avatar.

This is significantly less rigorous than the previous requirement of 1,000 posts... The primary reason why you might see members with less than the required number of posts who still yet have an avatar relates to the fact that at one point several years ago we "promoted" all current members at that time, regardless of post count. As owner/admin I have been know to grant exceptions on occasion based on exceptional requests/submission of exceptional avatar images...  Sorry for the confusion. Happy belated Christmas, btw.
