I'm bidding on a hardtop and don't have the prep kit - has anyone ever installed one themselves, or is this a dealer-only thing?

It's not hard to install the kit and adjust the fitting of the hardtop yourself.

I just noticed that you have a Z4. I don't know what the differences would be between a Z3 and Z4.

Ron, thanks for the offer. I didn't win the auction - I sort of backed-off on the bidding due to the sellers low feedback rating and lack of actual pictures of the top (he only had stock photos). I still plan to get a top though, so I'll PM you my e-mail for the instructions. I'll likely add the kit so I'll be ready to move the next time a deal turns up...
