Where am I supposed to be???

88 735i bmw (150K mileage). Which is the correct forum to hang out in? What I'm really looking for is a solution to my (auto) shifting problem. In S mode the tranny hammers, shifting from gear to gear. Almost like there is a shift kit in a car for the drag track. Possible bad torque converter, and I'm told a "code 9". Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
