First off, my apologies for the folks that read the "other board" as well... but I haven't yet gotten an answer there so maybe someone here knows.
Are the M coupe and/or M roadster stock sway bars an upgrade for the z3 1.9? I'm guessing that they are because the M vehicles are both heavier and sport-tuned. Just wanted some confirmation and perhaps some feedback from someone that has done the swap.
Thanks! -Winston

It might be an upgrade, your reasoning makes sense, but why embarass yourelf like that ? Get aftermarket sways and your set. Is your 1.9 Charged ?

A local M Coupe owner just got some aftermartket sway bars for his car, so he'll be taking off his stock bars. I just thought that I'd check fitment in case I could use them. From the replies on the other board, it seems that the front suspensions are different between the M coupe/roadster and th 1.9. So that bar is a no-go. However, the rear bars should interchange. I'd go from a 14 mm to a 19 mm! Oversteer, baby Seriously though, now all that's left is to compare them to some of the aftermarket bars that are available for the 1.9. I'd like to make sure that 19 mm isn't too much bar for the car. I have a feeling that it might be too big
No, my car isn't supercharged. I won't be spending 3 grand for one anytime soon, either. Or even 2 grand for a used setup. I have a lot better uses for that kind of money...
Of course, I won't rule out a low-buck, homebrewed supercharger setup... in fact, I'm already gathering parts

Homemade supercharger... ? How are you going to pull that off ?

Well, there are plenty of used OEM superchargers that can be had for cheap. I'm going to try the Toyota SC12, which is an electronically clutched supercharger. Fuel will be added with a Dynojet Power Commander III, ala Shawn Fogg. Factory ECU will retain control of spark and base fuel maps. Bracketry will be custom, of course. Piping, custom.
