engine problem
Engine on '01 3.0 will not start. I had a "service engine soon" code cleared by the dealer about 3 weeks ago. Supposedly, it was due to not properly tightening the gas cap. The car drove home fine, but yesterday when I went to start it up for the first time since, all the lights on the instrument cluster flash on and off, and the engine will not start. Does anyone have an ideas to what the problem may be?
| | Reply » engine problem | On these cars, I would always check the battery first if the car doesn't start.
| | Reply » engine problem | I did think about that, but seeing as all the electrical functions of the car like indicators on the instrument cluster flash on and off, headlights and radio work, I do not think it's a lack of power with the battery.

If so, I'd check the battery. Sometimes the battery will have enough power to operate the lights, radio, etc, but not enough to operate the starter (which has a high current draw ).
