Anyone know if this steering wheel was ever offered by the factory?

Just wondering if anyone knows if this steering wheel came stock on the car. I don't remember ever seeing this steering wheel before.

yes the wheel came stock in 2001 -2002 models M and Z cars

This one looks like the owner has only customized the center plastic pieces IMO

Judging by the quality of the photo, photo-layout, euro-configuration, console buttons and the fact that the car has roll-up windows (no electric!) this is probably a BMW press-photo of a very early M roadster prototype with a parts-bin steering wheel.

Window crank plus the electric window buttons on the console. No ASC button and the air conditioner button is placed differently.

Looks like that prototype has a headunit with an OBC?

And it looks like an oil pressure guage in the center position and no voltmeter ? Also, look at the texture and color of the photos comparing the door color to the seat and dash color. Has photoshop struck elements together for a press pic?
