Need some DME advice
I received the Shark injector for my '99 M Coupe last week and went to flash the DME this past weekend when I got a 1-4-3 code, which in Conforti speak equates to a "non-standard DME". This is a relatively new car to me...Ive only had it for a month. The car has had 3 owners prior and when I got it, it already had a CAI, which now leads me to believe that somewhere along the way its had the DME reprogrammed...By who or with what I have no clue. Ive had my local dealer pull a DCS to see if any Dinan work was done by a delaer, but it shows nothing. I know that Dinan and Conforti are the two major reprogrammers out there. Are there any others I should be aware of? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to figure out what programming was used? My options are (1) leave as is and return the Conforti injector...the car seems to pull strong and run great (2) Have the dealership reflash to stock and then shark it. Any help more than welcome!

There really are other tuners out there (NickG and Karl Hugh come immediately to mind) but those are usually at the more esoteric level and/or forced induction.

It's a Dinan based Vortech unit. I used NickG for software.
If you're interested in FI, watch Zoran's TS come together (I'll be starting it sometime soon). I have high expectations...
