Need help on this.... I have a 98 2.8 Z3.. The car is excellent, love it to bits but I am having intermittent problems with the roof which is stopping when going down then will start again after a minute or when down will not come back up.
Any help, advice will be greatly appreciated.

From what I have read, the micro switch in the top fails......It sounds like this could cause your problem. It is the switch that activates when you unlatch the top and push it up the first few inches......Not sure where it is located but as I understand, this switch failure is common...
A search on this forum should reveal some threads on it.....

its right above drivers head, left side. When you unlatch the top and push it a few inches you can see a metal piece....hardto describe its metalic color and is baiscaly bent in half, the wire runs back from there. Good luck
