Auto dimming mirro harness connector PN

Can anyone provide me with the PN for the connector harness that connects the auto dimming rear view mirror. I have a 99 and it didn't come that way but I was lucky enough to find a nice auto dimming one for a pretty penny. Even with tinted windows, I find that big trucks really blind me at night and I wish could dim it a bit.

Thanks!

I'm not familiar with your car specifically, but I have done a retrofit of auto-dim in my E46. I'm fairly certain that the mirrors are interchangeable. The mirror I purchased was from a 1999 E46 and is working great. My OEM mirror had the clown nose and the connector was missing one wire to make it work.

There are only two pins in the connector required to make the auto-dim function. Pin 10 is ground, pin 3 is +12v switched. I grabbed power from the UGDO plug in my headliner and the ground was already in place. I did not purchase the $38 retrofit harness, but "obtained" the contact I needed and ran the wire myself.

Sorry I can't confirm your connector specifically, but I thought I'd chime in to let you know it's doable and easy. PM me if you would like more info on the contact, i.e. I have some extras.

oh thanks! maybe I will just do that. I too had the clown nose mirror and I got the oval auto dimming from a 2000 M Coupe to replace it.

I just put a Gentex/Homelink/dimmer on my wife's Z, which had a plain jane mirror. Had to put a new mirror mount on & then tapped the overhead light power. Very easy.

Guys I have been trying to install this thing for two weeks now but I can't get the cabling straight. The car comes with a transmitter connector. I want to use the cables from this to the 10 pin connector that goes to the mirror. There are only 9 pins coming from the mirror.

The cables below were connected to the previous mirroe in this position.

Alarm cables are

8 Green/Black
9 Red/Black

Transimtter connector cable is wired like this

1 Blue/Green or Yellow
2 Grey/Red
3 Green/Red
4 Green/Yellow
5 Brown/Black

There are other connectors in the roof of the car but not sure what they are for.

One connector goes to the sunroof and there is another that has a

Yellow
Black
Translucent almost speaker wire looking

in a connector.

Any Ideas on how to put this together?????

Mani
