Not really saying "good-bye", but my old back has finally made the decision for me to change my ways. Gone is the roadster - replaced by a sedan. Here is the dearly departed and the first pic of it's replacement - '02 530i SP manual. Many new things to learn about! Thanks for all the help and info on things E36/7/8 wise. I'll still lurk - Ron's tidbits are applicable to many other situations! Now I gotta see if the guys on the E39 forum are as cool as you all. Joebimmmer

Thanks for your recent postings regarding a relay for the hardtop defroster circuit. I had the relay but it appears that others with newer Z3s retrofitting a hardtop did not.

Sorry to hear about your back. As bad as mine is, the seat in the M coupe doesn't bother it (keeping virtual fingers crossed). I had to take a bath on selling a three-month old MB C230k because i couldn't drive it for any distance without severe back pain. It felt just fine on test drives.
I'm sure you have many miles of happy driving ahead of you in your E39.

Actually, sitting and riding in the Z3 was okay (drove from Va to Utah and back 2.5 days each way). I had done the mod on the seat mount raising the front. I had problems getting in and out - couldn't bend. Lately I was almost crawling on the ground getting out. Top down - no problems. But a bit impractical to keep top down in the winter! The heated seats in the 530 are heaven!
Thanks again, guys!

I applaud your taste in sedans! Ive had an E39 for 3 years and absolutely love it! The 530 is a great car to drive. Good luck with it!
