Looking for feedback from Toyo T1-R owners

I'm THIS close (thumb and forefinger about 1/2 inch apart) to finally ordering a new set of tires, and the winner right now are Toyo T1-R's. I have seen several posts here about people buying and installing them, but not much feedback on how they are after a few thousand miles. So...what are your thoughts? Any positive/negative comparisons to other tires you've had on the coupe in the past? Also, do you have or foresee any rubbing or clearance issues with a 235/45-17 and 265/40-17 combo?

Thanks,

John

I don't have a Z Coupe so I don't know about the fitment issues, but I just got a set of T1-Rs mounted so I should have some impressions after I get some miles on them. So far, it seems they're real quiet, though initial turn-in response isn't quite as crisp as my Michelin Pilot Sports or my Yokohama ES100s that I had previously. But again... will know more as I get more miles on them.

I hate my T1-R's... minimal grip, but they are comfortable and quiet.

I still love the Falkens John :-))))

Pat, don't disagree about the Falkens, but where the heck can I get the RT-215's now that they're discontinued? I've seen a couple online places with one or two 15 inch sizes, but not the 225/45-17 and 245/45-17 (already tried Wesco).

How many miles do you have on your T1-R's? I'm a little concerned that Toyo's top non-racing tire is described as having "minimal grip."

John

I have about 1200 miles on them and the T1-S was a better tire.

The grip sucks - come by and take my car out for a drive.

The 615's should offer a proper size... right ???

I had T1S for almost 10k and loved them. Mostly on the street but did about 120 track miles on them.

Once they wore out I got T1R's which I have about 500-600 miles on total with 100 of them being on the track. I was sliding around a bit on the track but in the morning it was below freezing so it isn't apples to apples. I still like them (especially since they were $120/each), but probably don't have enough miles on them to truly give good feedback.
