I was driving out to get lunch today and on the drive back home, I noticed faint "whining" noises. It sounded like a single bird caw or something

I know, it's weird. But I noticed it only made the sound when i wound up the car in gear to 3000 RPM, then depressed the clutch to up shift. I did this around my neighborhood and the higher RPMs I wind the car to, the louder the noise is. It sounds a bit like the type of squeaky sound the hood struts make when you lift the hood up.
Has anyone experienced this before?
EDIT: Okay, I tried recreating the sound and I found that if I put the car in neutral, hold the RPM's at 2500 or so, and depress the clutch and hold it there, it'll make the same whining sound. The higher the revs, the louder the whine. But this is only if the clutch pedal is depressed...
WTF? Is it my clutch? Flywheel? Did I run over a bird?
