Hi, new to BMW. Just picked up a 2000 Z3. It has an AM/FM/CD business radio. I discovered it has an auto volume-adjusting feature. While this may be useful when the top is down it is quite annoying with a quiet top up drive. Is there any way to turn this feature off? Could not find anything in the owner’s man. Thanks.

Speed sensitive volume adjustment.

The feature is nice even if you have a fixed roof.
You just need to change the amount of adjustment as shown in the above instructions. The idea is to select an increment value that is just enough to cancel out the increasing road noise so you perceive the music is at constant volume, but I guess the convertible top throws a variable in that equation.

Thanks guys! Tried searching the web for an hour with no results. I guess it's who you know. I wonder why they don't put anything in the radio manual?
