 A small challenge for Ron...

I'm going to attempt to change the driver's side lower body panel (the rocker panel I guess) which got crunched by a hard landing on a jack stand (oy! ) myself.

This like most other M Coupe panels is a bolt on but there must be a correct way to remove and install...

any helpful hints?

Haven't been there yet on the coupe. Not as easy as the E36's like my ti.

There is no precedure for the coupe that I can find on my UK TIS. My NA TIS is on my other computer which died a few days ago.

There is one for the roadster but not the same.

Basically based on the EPC data you have to remove the wheel well plastic pieces in the area, the front side panel (fender) and the door sill to access the screws. Also screws on the bottom.

Also my photo creation stuff is all on the other machine. In the process of transfering the stuff but some isn't compatible with the XP software so I have to purchase some new stuff.

I may be able to help some, I had to do this on my roady
1. you have to remove the door sill there are bolts under it that bolt it to the body
2. remove the inner fender wells to gain access to more bolts
3. remove from fender (one with the little blinker) there are more bolts underneath it lower area
4. there are more bolts that are acutally underneath the car where the panel lips under the car, all are 10mm if i remeber right
5. tape off all areas that are painted that you are not removing i.e. lower door, rear fender, front fender all that stuff

edit: I should have read rons post, Ive just repeated all that he said

yeah, well...you should see the "ding" on mine! I had a jack let go and the jack stand was not all the way under or all the way clear.....it's nasty. Luckily the part is not too expensive.
