 Can I run 205/50/17s snows on a 2.8 Z3?

It's the same diameter as the standard 225/50/16 and optional 225/45/17F, 245/40/17R, as well as the standard size on the e46 325 and 330.

I've been told that it's not a bad idea to run a narrower tread in the snow...

Any advice?

TIA

Sounds like a good idea to me. I've always purchased snow tires in narrower widths than the stock tires.

That's what I'm running on my 330Ci. I had to deal with only one minor snow storm so far. They worked great. You don't want a big fat tire for snow anyway.
