Hi all! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Some quick tire questions...

What tread depth do most folks consider a minimum before going into a driver's ed weekend?

(Assume dry conditions, 8 half-hour sessions over two days, at Homestead Miami Speedway...hee hee!)

Also, concerning mounting new tires, is there anything special about this that a trusted local tire store can't handle (vs. a specialized BMW mechanic)?

BTW, I'm going to order another set of Falken Azenis RT-615's (225/45 front, 255/40 rear).
