Help with headlight wire harness + HID

Happy "Black Friday" everyone! Instead of shopping I'm using today to work on my car and could use some help.

I recently purchased a headlight wire harness (from suvlights.com) and am having some difficulty using it with my low beam 9006 HID kit. I am able to connect the harness correctly and ground it appropriately. The parking and high beam (halogen) lights work fine. However, when I turn on the lowbeam lights, it immediately blows the fuse. I believe this is due to the high current that the HID ballasts draw at startup. I increased the fuse to a 30A fuse, but it still blows. I am hesitant to increase to fuse any higher as the relays (Bosch) are rated at 30A max.

Do you have any advice as to how to use this harness with an HID kit? Are there slow fuses that can withstand the short duration of high current drawn by the HID ballasts?

Thanks very much for your help!!

There are three fuses. One for each light and another for the coil.
On my '01 M coupe I changed fuse 11 & 12 from 7.5A to 10A fuses. I left fuse 25 at 5A.

I didn't use a harness.

Thanks for the response Ron.

I originally was not using a harness either and am using 7.5A fuses for fuses 11 and 12. Things were working fine until recently when I started to get flickering of the instrument cluster (odometer display).

Have you experienced this? Maybe the ballasts are not grounded well. Could that be causing the problem?

Thanks,
Anil

Pin 1 of the stock headlight connector which plugs into the ballast is ground. Plugging it in grounds the ballast case. My drivers side ballast case is not separately grounded.
My passenger side one is grounded via the case too since I mounted it to the fender well using a rivet nut. Was not always the case. I've seen no problems yet. Got my kit long ago from SPP with Daniel Wangs help.

You may have the beginning of a serious problem that could require replacement of your instrument panel if not addressed quickly.
