Help replacing voltmeter bulb on '99 M Coupe

Ok, so I read all the posts and decided the best way to replace the burnt out bulb was to go in through the shifter gate. I was successful in getting my hand in there (no mean feat for my ham hocks), removing the bulb socket from the voltmeter and have replaced the bulb, but now I cant get the $%^&* thing back in. I cant find the socket hole by feel! Does anyone have a schematic drawing of the back of the voltmeter so I can at least visualize where it is? I thank you and my mangled hand thanks you all in advance!

It may help to go in from the side. Removing the footwell panel and knee bolster and looking in from the driver's side
